Fire Explorer (Ages 15-20) Volunteer
About The Position
This is a volunteer position for young adults aged 15-20 interested in the fire service. The Explorer Program, a joint venture with "Learning for Life" established in 1975, aims to foster a relationship between young adults and their communities. Explorers gain real-life experiences, hands-on training, and classroom education related to the fire service. The North County Fire Protection District's program focuses on career opportunities, leadership experience, life skills, service learning, and character education. The program is strictly volunteer, with both Explorers and instructors dedicating their time. Past Explorers have successfully transitioned into fulltime Firefighter roles.
Requirements
- Must be between the ages of 15-20.
- Attend all meetings to receive the most from the Explorer Post.
- Maintain a 2.5 grade point average while in high school.
- Provide proof of GPA.
Nice To Haves
- Attend all meetings.
Responsibilities
- Attend meetings every Tuesday night from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
- Participate in physical activities.
- Volunteer at community and Department events.
- Maintain a 2.5 grade point average while in high school.
- Provide proof of GPA.
