About The Position

The purpose of the Fire and EMS Lab Instructor Advanced Life Support Paramedic position is to instruct and guide fire and emergency medical services Advanced Life Support and Paramedic students and firefighter students through the psychomotor skills introduction, acquisition, reinforcement, mastery and evaluation stages in fire and emergency medical services education programs; provide simulation activities, tutoring, and remedial assistance to students, provide feedback to program faculty regarding skill acquisition and mastery, as well as to provide instructional resources required to meet state-mandated instructor-to-student ratios for fire and EMS program lab/practical skills and simulation. The Fire and EMS Lab Instructor Advanced Life Support Paramedic is also responsible for maintaining, inventorying, and replacing/resetting assigned equipment and lab/classroom spaces; the Fire and EMS Lab Instructor Advanced Life Support Paramedic, as designated by the department/program head/chair, may serve as a lead lab instructor/mentor to help guide and orient new lab instructors to the College, division and department/programs, policies, procedures, and expectations and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Advanced Life Support Paramedic certification/qualifications.
• Fire and Emergency Medical Services education experience.
• Ability to instruct and guide students through psychomotor skills.
• Ability to provide simulation activities, tutoring, and remedial assistance.
• Ability to provide feedback to program faculty.
• Ability to maintain, inventory, and replace/reset equipment and lab spaces.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a lead lab instructor/mentor.
• Familiarity with College, division, and department/program policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
