About The Position

The Fire Department Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides pre-hospital emergency medical care, responds to 911 calls, assists fire suppression personnel, and supports public safety operations. The EMT delivers high-quality patient care during emergencies, accidents, medical incidents, and disasters while maintaining readiness for emergency response.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • State EMT Certification.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to lift and move patients safely.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency medical calls and provide Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Assess patient conditions and administer appropriate treatment.
  • Safely transport patients to medical facilities.
  • Maintain ambulance equipment and medical supplies.
  • Complete patient care reports and incident documentation.
  • Participate in fire department training and drills.
  • Support disaster response and community outreach programs.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies and safety regulations.
