Assist the Battalion Chief in the Training Division; Lead the department and personnel in the establishment of a Wildland Firefighting Division. The selected candidate will be expected to participate in Federal EMAC and State MOU deployments until additional team members can be trained to the level of Engine Boss. Management and completion of all required documentation and paperwork during deployments. Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of others and yourself while deployed. Ensures crew operational readiness. Maintains accountability of all crew members and assigned groups. Ensure a working relationship with assigned group leaders. Immediately report any injuries, illnesses, or personnel issues to the appropriate authority. Ensure crew members and self, follow the outlined code of conduct and department policy. Make notifications of safe arrival home following assignments. Assist, manage, and direct department-wide Wildland Firefighting, Firefighting, and EMS training per direction, ensure standardization of training across all three shifts, Fire Prevention, and Fire Administration, ensure training is completed to maximize point values for ISO ratings & maintain personnel certification requirements. Receives general direction from the Battalion Chief over the Training Division.
