Requirements

  • Familiarity with all fire assay methods and their respective digestion volumes and finish methods
  • Strong analytical and mechanical skills
  • Organized and highly motivated individual
  • Detail-oriented individual
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time-critical issues
  • Basic English communication skills
  • Safety oriented
  • Must be clean-shaven for Personal Protective Equipment (respirator)
  • Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required
  • Shower before the end of each shift
  • Undergo a lead blood test required every six months
  • Able to stand for a full shift
  • Able to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities
  • Possess manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks
  • Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country you are applying for, or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma or Degree in Science preferred
  • Laboratory experience in a production-oriented environment would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Crucible management and set up/prepare samples for fusion
  • Perform fusion and cupellation processes using furnace tools
  • Ensure all safe work procedures and standard working procedures are strictly adhered to
  • Ensure cleaning and maintenance schedules are complete
  • Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
