We train individuals to provide emergency medical services, fight fires, perform rescues and promote fire safety and prevention. PWC FRS is a growing organization of over 800 uniformed and civilian employees that offers tremendous learning and promotion opportunities. We are dedicated to the growth and development of a customer service-driven, diverse workforce to meet the needs of our citizens. The FRS has a deployment model that includes Paramedic Engines, 24 hour shifts and a 56 hour work week. Work station and duty assignment will be determined by the county. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire.
  • Have a valid Driver's License at time of application.
  • Have any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED by date of hire.
  • Criminal History Check
  • Credit History Check
  • Education Verification Check
  • License Verification Check
  • Fingerprinting
  • Criminal background check conducted by the Central Crime Records Exchange and the National Crime Information Center via Virginia State Police
  • Driving record transcript from the individual’s state Department of Motor Vehicles

  • Applicants with a Virginia EMT-P or National Registry EMT-P may be eligible to receive a one-time $3,000 signing bonus payable after successful completion of the probationary period.
