This job posting is to create an eligibility list. Anyone interested in being considered for a career FF/EMT position will need to apply and be placed on the Eligibility List. EFR is looking to continue to grow with candidates that will help us continue to develop our organization and is excited to help us build a sustainable and effective combination agency. The entire membership of our organization is truly the strength and heart of our operation that is focused on protecting life, property and the environment through prevention, preparedness, education and emergency response. Evergreen Fire/Rescue, founded in 1948, provides around the clock emergency medical, rescue, and fire suppression services along with community risk reduction services to nearly 26,000 residents across more than 120 square miles. Led by a Fire Chief and the Board of Directors of the Evergreen Fire Protection District, EFR consists of six divisions: Administration, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire Operations, Community Risk Reduction, Maintenance, and Wildland. The volunteers and employees of each division are committed to providing exceptional service to their community of residents, business owners, employees, and visitors. The Firefighter/EMT is charged with the responsibilities of responding to firefighting, EMS, rescue, wildland and other emergency and non-emergency incidents. While there are routine and essential duties, no day is the same; from day-long training sessions to responding to an activated fire alarm, fighting a structure fire, responding to low and high acuity medical emergencies, an emerging wildland incident to performing life safety education or public education activity in the community are all within the expectations of EFR personnel.
