About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking experienced Lead Fire Alarm Technicians to support the expansion of operations in the Knoxville market. This role will be responsible for installing, configuring, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm systems. Additional experience with Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Call, and Intercom systems is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will serve as a role model by demonstrating integrity, accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to both internal teams and customers.

  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, including fire alarms, access control, CCTV, nurse call, and intercom systems
  • Solid technical and computer skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Experience using hand tools and multimeters
  • Comfortable working from ladders and lifts
  • Ability to lift and carry an 8’ ladder regularly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Comfortable reporting to and coordinating with a Project Manager

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience with Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Call, and Intercom systems is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program, start up, troubleshoot, and commission new system installations
  • Perform point-to-point troubleshooting on: Fire alarm systems, Access control systems, CCTV systems, Nurse call and intercom systems
  • Communicate clearly with project leads and clients regarding: Project status, Challenges, Completion timelines
  • Assist with installation projects and ensure successful completion
  • Identify and escalate installation or system issues to the project lead
  • Review contract and design documents prior to installation for accuracy
  • Conduct inspections to ensure systems meet code requirements
  • Complete detailed project documentation and reports
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal teams and customers
  • Follow assigned schedules (may vary by project)
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
  • Maintain reliable, in-person attendance during business hours and as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
