Fire Alarm Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Confires Fire Protection Service is hiring trainees for its Fire Alarm division. This is an opportunity to learn a growing trade, with training to become a licensed, certified Fire Alarm Technician. The company is seeking hardworking, hands-on individuals interested in learning a trade in the fire protection industry and building a long-term career through training, certification, and quality work. Compensation is hourly and depends on employment and educational background and experience. Quarterly bonuses are offered. Hours worked between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m. are paid at time and a half, every day of the week.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with three or fewer points.
- At least three years of driving experience.
- Knowledge of hand tools such as pipe wrenches, channel locks, and drills.
- Willingness to learn and study fire protection systems in order to pass tests and become certified.
- Initiative, willingness to pursue opportunities, and ability to tackle goals.
- Excellent attendance and ability to handle responsibility.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate well with customers and explain work performed and necessary repairs.
- Strong writing skills and ability to provide detailed service-work documentation.
- Organizational skills, including tracking service tickets and processing required documents.
Responsibilities
- Learn the fire alarm trade and study different fire protection systems in preparation for tests and certification.
- Communicate with customers about the work being performed and any necessary repairs.
- Write detailed service-work documentation.
- Stay organized, track service tickets, and process required documentation for each service performed.
- Work nights and weekends for occasional emergency services.
