About The Position

Join our Siemens Smart Buildings Internship Program as a Smart Buildings Fire Alarm Systems Project Management Intern in Summer 2027! This 10-week internship program focuses on smart buildings and sustainable infrastructure. You will rotate through various departments at the local branch office, with 80% of your time dedicated to project management activities, including learning how to manage a construction project, on-the-job training, and shadowing. Additionally, 10% of your time will be spent with the sales department to learn about go-to-market strategies and sales processes, and another 10% will be spent in the service department focusing on service-related tasks. You may also gain experience rotating through our core business segments: HVAC, Fire/Life Safety, Security, and Energy/Sustainability Systems. The goal of this program is to develop future talent for the Siemens organization and help interns identify potential career paths post-graduation.

Requirements

  • Must be current enrollment as an undergraduate at an accredited 4-year U.S. college or university.
  • Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Energy/Sustainability and Built Environment.
  • Rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior
  • Ability to work 40-hours per week for the 10-week program (May - July or June - August)
  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
  • Skilled in using Windows laptops and adept at learning new software for programming and troubleshooting automation equipment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Strong analytical, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Nice To Haves

  • There is no relocation or housing stipend for this program
  • This program does not support students on a Visa such as F1, J1, M1 and H1B as well as OPT/CPT.

Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish a project delivery plan.
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule, as well as coordinate needs with the project team, identifying time-sensitive installation needs.
  • Manage the procurement of supplies and materials to complete projects.
  • Participate in project cost reviews.
  • Track labor resources and project progress.
  • Pursue project-specific change-order opportunities.
  • Complete project-specific close-out documentation.
  • Rotate through other departments within the branch office to learn about how our branch organization operates as a whole.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay range for this position is $24 per hour for first-time Interns or $28 per hour for returning Interns.
  • Eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
