Fire Alarm Systems Designer Remote
About The Position
This position is for a Fire Alarm Systems Designer, providing CAD Drafting support to the design department. The primary responsibility involves preparing technical drawings and documentation for fire alarm system installations, utilizing provided tools and libraries. The designer will collaborate with another designer to create CAD drawings, which include floorplans, calculations, details, and various other diagrams as required by project specifications. Additionally, the role entails supporting internal customers by addressing their questions and requests, fostering interaction with team members to achieve common goals, solve problems, and resolve conflicts. The individual is expected to plan self-directed work activities in alignment with department processes and goals, and to complete necessary administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Skilled in use of AutoCAD versions 2023 and higher
- Working knowledge of MS Office Site (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Ability to work with direction, independently or as a member of a team
- Ability to organize and perform multiple assignments and responsibilities
- Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
- Effective and professional communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with internal customers
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of fire alarm system principles a plus
- Basic knowledge of low voltage electrical system schematics and diagrams a plus
- Working knowledge of REVIT/BIM a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide CAD Drafting support for design department
- Prepare technical drawings and documentation for fire alarm system installations (using provided tools and libraries)
- Work with a designer to prepare CAD drawings based on project requirements
- Drawings include floorplans, calculations, details and other diagrams as needed
- Support internal customer by addressing questions and other support requests
- Interact with other team members to accomplish tasks, achieve common goals, solve problems, resolve conflicts and measure achievements
- Use department processes and goals when planning self-directed work activities
- Complete administrative tasks
