About The Position

This role is for an Experienced Fire Alarm Designer, primarily supporting the Chicago market, but open to a fully remote candidate. The position involves overseeing project design from inception to completion, including design, permits, as-builts, and operations and maintenance manuals. The designer will develop comprehensive design plans to meet schedules and budgets, participate in team and on-site progress meetings, and ensure compliance with all published codes, standards, unique project specifications, and AHJ requirements. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and adhere strictly to deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the design of fire alarms or low-voltage systems
  • Previous experience working in Revit
  • Previous experience working in AutoCAD
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • Maintaining cutting-edge industry knowledge
  • Ability to pre-plan and execute tasks with a great amount of detail

Nice To Haves

  • Prior large project design experience, specifically in data centers
  • NICET Certification
  • Experience with Navisworks
  • Experience with Revizto
  • Experience with other BIM tools

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project design progression from inception to completion including design, permits, as-builts, and operations and maintenance manuals
  • Develop a comprehensive design plan to meet schedules and budgets
  • Participate in team and on-site progress meetings
  • Understand and follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications
  • Ensure AHJ requirements and procedures are followed
  • Multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines
