About The Position

Aero Automatic Sprinkler Company, with over 40 years of expertise in fire alarm and detection systems, is seeking a Fire Alarm Estimator / Sales Representative for its Denver, CO office. This role focuses on pursuing fire alarm installation projects of all sizes, cultivating strong client relationships, and securing new installation contracts for a variety of construction projects. The position requires collaboration with customers and the team, and participation in continuing education. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in estimating and/or sales within the fire protection industry.
  • Experience estimating/selling Alarm or Low Voltage systems highly preferred.
  • NICET certification or the strong commitment to gain certification.
  • Experience with Test & Inspection is highly desired.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and possess a strong drive to win new business.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and provide excellent customer service while building our customer base.
  • Experience with estimating functions and developing technical proposals.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Thorough understanding of general construction methods, practices, and terminology.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of local and national fire and building codes & government regulations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Regular, reliable attendance.
  • Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers interested in purchasing design and installation of fire alarm systems.
  • Demonstrate products or services and provide assistance in the best application of products or services.
  • Maintain knowledge and have a clear understanding on the application of all local and national codes, specifications, and guidelines set forth by authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Apply knowledge of NFPA standards to analyze hazards and identify appropriate design approach.
  • Read and comprehend plans and specifications.
  • Produce detailed cost estimates including design, materials, equipment, permits, subcontracts, consulting fees, and installation labor.
  • Prepare proposals with technical detail to identify scope of services being provided.
  • Negotiate, review, and execute price and terms of agreements.
  • Meet with contractors and subcontractors on site to review site conditions and discuss bid scope when necessary.
  • Participate in pre-bid, pre-construction, and post project completion meetings.
  • Meet productivity and timeline goals for bids produced.
  • Travel as necessary to meet with clients in our region.
