Fire Alarm installer
About The Position
Piper Electric, a Crete United Company, is seeking a Fire Alarm Installer to join its low-voltage and life safety team. The role involves installing, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning commercial fire alarm systems in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes. Work includes commercial construction and service projects throughout Colorado. The installer reads blueprints and wiring diagrams, installs conduit and devices, pulls and terminates cable, and assists with system startup. The position requires experience with fire alarm systems in commercial or industrial environments, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The installer is also responsible for meeting Piper Electric's quality standards and providing technical support to customers regarding alarm system operation and maintenance.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of alarm system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Experience in fire alarm systems is required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, and maintain alarm systems in commercial and governmental buildings.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine alarm system layout and installation.
- Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems.
- Provide technical support to customers regarding alarm system operation and maintenance.
- Install conduit and devices, pull and terminate cable, and assist with system startup.
- Test and commission commercial fire alarm systems in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes.
