Fire Alarm Installation Technician - Intermediate
About The Position
Koorsen is hiring an intermediate Fire Alarm Installation Technician in Huntsville, Alabama, to install fire alarm systems and components and ensure they function properly. The technician installs systems and associated devices according to drawings, helps customers understand system functionality, and interacts professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers. The role requires following safety regulations, company policies, procedures, and core values, as well as maintaining an open-minded willingness to continue learning. The position may also include other duties deemed appropriate by management. The posted pay range is $19–$35 per hour, depending on experience. The schedule is 7:00 a.m.–3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Physical requirements include using hand and power tools and a cell phone, lifting and carrying at least 50 pounds, pushing and pulling more than 75 pounds, climbing ladders reaching at least 12 feet, and using a man lift. The job involves exposure to outdoor weather, temperature changes, and loud noises. Hiring requirements include completing I-9 verification within three days of hire, employment eligibility verification through E-Verify, background checks, and a urinalysis substance-abuse test if an offer is made.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of fire alarm installation or service experience.
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience with electronic testing devices and programming.
- Pass drug and background screenings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet state licensing requirements and/or vendor certifications.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to safely and effectively use general hand and power tools.
- Ability to effectively use a cell phone and cell phone apps.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and push and pull more than 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb a ladder reaching at least 12 feet and use a man lift to perform services.
Nice To Haves

- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
