About The Position

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Alarm Helper to join its team. The helper assists with routine installation and checkout of a variety of systems using applicable codes, company procedures, engineering drawings, and personnel analysis. The role also involves developing a positive interface with customers to support their confidence and satisfaction with system installations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Interest in learning and growing in the fire-life safety industry.
Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
Ability to work overtime and out of town, if needed.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
Ability to work independently with some supervision.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to obtain OSHA 10.
Physical ability to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds; working at heights and climbing ladders; and standing and walking for most of the workday.
Ability to travel occasionally overnight, as needed.
Ability to learn and safely use standard trade tools.
Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Utilize electrical tools and meters.
Assist with conduit and wire installation.
Assist with installation of fire alarm and security devices.
Assist with installation of fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Comply with industry standards and procedures and Sciens safety programs and policies.
