Finishing Technician I
About The Position
Perform a variety of tasks in the finishing process of the blade. This involves grinding blades to work instruction specifications, grinding between quality marks, and applying gelcoat to designated locations. The role also includes matting to give blades a clean finish, painting, and sanding. Specific tasks include applying tape to the edge of the blade to avoid overspray of gel coat, applying auto mask to the shell of the blade, and applying filler/mud to the lead edge of the blade, followed by scraping off excess to ensure all voids are filled. The technician will also turn the blade utilizing a machine and is required to wear designated personal protective equipment, follow all health and safety guidelines, and maintain 5s standards.
Requirements
- Ability to lift of carry objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull heavy objects.
- Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
- Ability to work with hands for an extended period.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
- Requires usage of respirator.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma/GED or related experience.
- Previous Manufacturing experience.
