Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience in metal fabrication required.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measure.
  • Basic ability to use computer systems.
  • Learns quickly when facing new problems; open to change; strives for continuous improvement of self and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas.
  • Must be able to work overtime including some weekends when workload requires this.
  • Must satisfactorily pass background check, and post-offer drug screen, physical and agility test prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma / Equivalency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Abrade surfaces of metal to remove any scale, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt.
  • Be responsible for prepping work surfaces with masking film, tape, and rubber.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
  • Shovel or pour abrasives into machine hopper or reclaimer.
  • Perform safe loading of parts on racks, pallets, or mats inside the blast booth.
  • Turn valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through the nozzle.
  • Safely and efficiently set up and operate bead blast machine.
  • Examine finished pieces for proper conformance to specifications.
  • Perform daily checks and housekeeping of blast booth and corresponding work area.
  • Operate a forklift safely.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or team lead.
