About The Position

The Finishing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day execution and supervision of finishing operations, with a primary focus on enameling and gluing processes. This role ensures that production meets safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets, while maintaining strict control over process parameters, product quality, and team performance in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing leadership experience, ideally in finishing operations within high-volume, multi-shift environments.
  • Hands-on experience with enameling, coating, painting, and/or industrial adhesive (gluing) processes.
  • Working knowledge of coating systems, defect analysis, adhesive technologies, and basic thermal processes (ovens, furnaces).
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and knowledge in ERP, Time and Attendance, and OEE systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • EMS Yellow Gear or Lean Manufacturing certification equivalent, preferred.
  • Ability to speak Spanish, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across enameling, adhesive, and finishing processes.
  • Execute production plans and meet output, quality, and efficiency targets.
  • Monitor KPIs (output, scrap, downtime) and drive performance improvements.
  • Optimize staffing, line balance, and workflow.
  • Oversee surface prep, coating application, and curing cycles.
  • Ensure coating quality (adhesion, thickness, surface finish).
  • Troubleshoot process issues and drive defect reduction.
  • Manage adhesive application (manual and automated systems).
  • Control process parameters (temperature, pressure, curing time).
  • Ensure proper material handling and bond quality.
  • Support new adhesive technologies and process improvements.
  • Drive First-Time Quality (FTQ).
  • Lead root cause analysis (5 Whys, 8D) for defects and failures.
  • Implement Lean practices (5S, standard work, waste reduction).
  • Support Kaizen and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment and chemical handling.
  • Enforce PPE and safety standards.
  • Maintain environmental compliance for coatings and adhesives.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop production team members.
  • Provide performance feedback and support training.
  • Promote accountability and team engagement.
  • Partner with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
  • Support process improvements and new product introductions (NPI).
