About The Position

Resource Label Group is seeking a 2nd Shift Finishing Operator to join their growing team. This role is focused on the setup and operation of commercial label inspector machines, including visual quality control. The operator will also be responsible for operating equipment to slit continuous lengths of printed material into strips of specified width. Requirements

  • Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to read a ruler.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Receives job assignments from Finishing Supervisor or Team Lead; reads job specifications and selects correct cores and rewind method for job.
  • Reviews job jacket to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressed.
  • Inspects products to ensure quality integrity and packages products.
  • Observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding.
  • Ensures quality of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shipped.
  • Assists in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on machines.
  • Removes or replaces blades on inspection machines.
  • Completes paperwork for each job and packages finished goods for shipment to customer.
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.
