About The Position

This position is responsible for packing yarn combs from buggies to the shrink wrap machine, ensuring accurate labeling and data entry, and transporting finished cases to the warehouse. The role requires maintaining a high level of professionalism, understanding all procedures, and adhering to safety rules. General housekeeping and waste recording are also part of the duties.

Requirements

Manufacturing experience required.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, safety rules and instructions which are posted in English.
Ability to communicate effectively with Operators, Crew Leaders, Supervisors and Managers.

Forklift experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Secure and check out assigned lift truck to operate during shift.
Gather necessary paperwork and supplies for packing.
Identify buggies released for packing based on lab inspection.
Pack yarn combs from the buggy to the shrink wrap machine, 3 layers high.
Match the extra label on the buggy to the layered yarn combs and place it on top of the case.
Shrink wrap the case.
Match the label on top of the case with a lot number by looking it up in the computer.
Enter lot information, including the weight of the packed case, into the computer.
Print a label from the computer and place it on the work ticket.
Enter production information on data record sheets.
Push the case of yarn to the automated conveyor.
Remove filled yarn cases from the conveyor with a lift truck and take them to the assigned warehouse area.
In the last 30 minutes of the shift, stop packing to pick up the work area and record waste.
Return the assigned lift truck to the correct battery charger, lock the brake, and plug in the charger cord.
