Requirements

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Mechanical/technical aptitude.
  • Entry Level Computer skills.
  • Ability to set up and trouble shoot Leary, Mactron, Alpina and Pafra glue systems.
  • Ability to set up and run all Hot Melt units and trouble shoot as needed.
  • Ability to set up and run labelaire machines per customer specs.
  • Ability to setup and run the Alpina, Speed Queen, Domino, Window machine, and Pick and Place on the Domino.
  • Finishing machine, allen wrench, screwdriver and other related tools needed for make ready.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
  • Routine Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) carrying (up to 50 lbs.), pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, visual acuity (Near and Far).
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work in inside conditions with extremes of heat (up to 100 degrees in the summer), humidity, and noise (must wear hearing protection).
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Working knowledge of finishing machine (gluer).
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Complex glue experience a plus.
  • Feeder/Catcher experience preferred.
  • Mechanical experience is helpful (automotive, small engine repair, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Adjusting glue machinery to fit particular style of carton being processed.
  • Maintaining machinery at optimum speed and making adjustments to resolve malfunctions.
  • Overseeing crew members working on gluer machinery, ensuring efficiency and safety.
  • Training feeder/catcher trainees.
  • Performing duties of the feeder or catcher during breaks (approximately 2 hours per day).
  • Performing maintenance duties on gluer machinery, including greasing, oiling, cleaning, and replacing parts.
  • Maintaining written and electronic (SAP) records of quality and production, including hourly statistical measurements.
  • Making labels per customer specifications.
  • Assisting and teaching fellow operators to troubleshoot problems.
  • Following all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures related to the production of Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Reporting potentially unsafe conditions that may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF procedures.
  • Participating in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions as required.
  • Following all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Reporting any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority.
