About The Position

The Finishing Operator is responsible for converting large rolls of protective film into finished products that meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role involves operating finishing equipment, monitoring production processes, packaging and labelling finished goods, and preparing materials for shipment. The Finishing Operator plays a critical role in supporting production efficiency, quality standards, and ensuring on-time delivery in accordance with Novacel’s operational and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, measurements, and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining product quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety and machine maintenance procedures.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform tasks involving kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating slitting, coating, laminating or similar machinery preferred.
  • Previous experience in the film, paper, or flexible materials manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Operate finishing equipment such as slitters, rewinders, laminators, and sheeters to process protective film into finished products.
  • Set up machines according to work orders, product specifications and production schedules.
  • Monitor equipment performance to maintain optimal production output.
  • Inspect products during and after processing to ensure compliance with company and customer quality standards.
  • Package finished rolls or sheets according to internal guidelines and customer requirements.
  • Label finished goods with accurate product and batch information.
  • Complete production records, reports and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance, adjustments and troubleshooting to reduce downtime.
  • Report mechanical issues or production concerns to Supervisors or Maintenance when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations and 5S practices.
  • Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Support departmental initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
