About The Position

Smyth-Austin is seeking a Finishing Operator to join a collaborative team producing high-quality labels and packaging. The role involves operating equipment and performing manual finishing tasks, inspecting products, preparing orders for shipping, and supporting quality and continuous-improvement efforts. The available schedule is 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Compensation is based on skills and experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand and bend throughout the shift.
Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Ability to make fact-based decisions and troubleshoot print and press problems.
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing hardware and software technologies.
Effective time-management skills to meet deadlines across multiple long- and short-term projects.
Clear communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a diverse group of people.
Ability to provide high levels of customer service and respond promptly and thoroughly to internal customer inquiries.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in a similar printing role.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and ISO quality systems.

Responsibilities

Perform manual and machine-operator tasks for a variety of finishing operations.
Inspect work for printing defects, with close attention to detail.
Box completed finishing orders in preparation for shipping.
Prepare appropriate quality sign-off documentation for assigned tasks.
Perform required preventive maintenance on assigned finishing equipment.
Work with teams and departments to support workflow and continuous improvement in finishing operations.
