About The Position

The Finishing Operator receives job assignments from the Press Supervisor or Team Lead, reads job specifications, and completes tasks as outlined. This role involves reviewing job jackets to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are met, inspecting products for quality integrity, and packaging products for shipment. The operator is responsible for ensuring the quality of work, including color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items. Additionally, the role may involve assisting in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobs, performing preventative maintenance on machines if assigned, completing paperwork for each job, and maintaining clear and organized work areas according to housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One year of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices
  • Regularly required to stand
  • Frequently required to walk
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

  • Printing or packaging industry experience preferred
