About The Position

The Dryer Operator plays a major role in the final finishing stage of production of Press fabrics for use in the pulp and paper industry. Over time the incumbent is trained in a variety of distinct tasks each associated with the classification of a Finishing Operator.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to assist in loading & unloading fabrics with a weight range of 40 –600 kilos at the Dryers & other finishing equipment.
  • Read and comprehend sales orders and manufacturing instructions
  • Must be able to safely operate all equipment in the Finishing department, including but not limited to dryers, perches and blue line after training.
  • Operate Forklift
  • Able to load/unload heavy fabrics when necessary
  • Must be cautious, quality minded, and able to recognize problems immediately
  • Perform other duties as required by supervision.
  • Cross-train to other processes
  • Maintains work area/environment
