About The Position

Smyth is seeking a Finishing Operator Assistant to work as part of a collaborative team producing high-quality labels and packaging. The role supports finishing operations and helps ensure that products reflect the company’s standards for pride and care while creating a strong customer experience. The assistant inspects finished work for printing defects and packs completed orders for shipping. The position also involves following company work rules and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and working with teams and departments to support workflow and continuous improvement. The available schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The schedule is stated as 36.75 hours, with overtime paid after 40 hours. Compensation is based on skills and experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and bend throughout the shift, and use visual acuity and hand dexterity.
Solid reading, math, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, orally and in writing, with people at all levels inside and outside the organization.
Effective time-management skills to meet deadlines across multiple long- and short-term projects.
Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills to work effectively with a diverse group of people and personalities.
Ability to provide high levels of customer service and respond promptly and thoroughly to internal customer inquiries.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and ISO quality systems.
