Operate a dozer to perform precise finish grading of earthwork surfaces to specified elevations and tolerances in a safe and efficient manner. Includes per diem. Requirements

High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
Operator 1: 2+ years of dozer operation experience, with exposure to finish grading.
Operator 2: 5+ years of dozer operation experience, including finish grading to tight tolerances.
Operator 3: 10+ years of dozer operation experience, including advanced finish grading and GPS/laser grade control systems.

Nice To Haves

Experience with GPS or laser machine control systems (e.g., Trimble, Topcon) is preferred, but not mandatory.
40 Hour HAZWOPER training
Competent Person Safety Training
8-Hour Supervisory Training
30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training
First Aid and CPR

Responsibilities

Participate in a drug-free workplace with a random drug testing program.
Responsible for driving a safety culture which promotes Incident and Injury Free Performance.
Operate a dozer equipped with GPS, laser, or sonic grade control systems to perform final/finish grading of earthwork surfaces to specified elevations and tolerances.
Read and interpret grading plans, survey stakes, cut/fill sheets, and grade control data to achieve precise finished grades.
Perform fine grading, sloping, and smoothing of surfaces to meet project specifications and drawings, minimizing rework and material waste.
Coordinate with survey crews and project engineers to verify grade elevations and confirm tolerances are met.
Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
Read and comply with safety plans, rules, maintenance instructions, training materials, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), warning tags, traffic signs and procedure manuals.
Abilities to work in challenging conditions and work independently or as part of a team.
Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.
