Finishing Assistant - 2nd Shift

About The Position

Avery Dennison is hiring a Finishing Assistant to operate and assist with advanced converting and finishing equipment used to manufacture materials to customer specifications. The role includes helping set up equipment, completing precision changeovers, running orders, monitoring product quality, maintaining safety and 5S standards, recording production information in MFG Pro, and collaborating with teammates during shift handoffs. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:45 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The starting hiring rate is $19.76 per hour, plus a $2 per hour shift differential.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or at least 3 years of relevant manufacturing or machine operation experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Comfort learning computer applications, including MFG Pro.
Commitment to workplace safety, continuous learning, and cross-training.
Dependability and schedule flexibility, including ability to work overtime as needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for the duration of the shift.

Responsibilities

Assist with routine equipment setup and precision changeovers, and run orders according to product specifications.
Participate in root-cause problem solving and maintain an organized, audit-ready work environment using 5S.
Monitor close tolerances, inspect product appearance, and identify defects early.
Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow plant safety standards.
Record production runs, downtime causes, and performance metrics in MFG Pro.
Communicate shift handoffs clearly and support team goals.
