About The Position

This role involves a variety of tasks related to the finishing of products and materials. Responsibilities include assembling, measuring, weighing, marking, labeling, counting, blending, tracking, recording, inspecting, packaging, and palletizing. The position requires the use of hand and power tools for finishing edges, removing flash, clearing holes, sawing, sanding, grinding, blasting, and trimming molded metal or plastic parts. Additionally, it involves cleaning, pasting, and assembling sand cores, operating various machines for fabrication, and setting up and dismantling machine fabricating equipment. Routine maintenance, repairs, and cleaning are also part of the duties. The role includes operating a forklift for material movement and loading/unloading trucks, interacting with computer software, and handling molten metal, including regulating furnace temperature and skimming dross. Quality inspection, troubleshooting, and problem resolution are critical. The position also involves instructing others, ensuring work quality, and adapting to changing work schedules and duties as needed. Monitoring for unsatisfactory quality or unusual operating conditions and alerting supervisors is a key responsibility. Successful completion of specific education, training, or certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, measure, weigh, mark, label, count, blend, track, record, inspect, package, and palletize various products or materials.
  • Set up and use various hand and power tools to finish edges, remove flash, clear holes, saw, sand, grind, blast clean or trim molded metal or plastic parts.
  • Use hand tools to clean, paste and assemble sand cores.
  • Rotate to operate numerous machines to fabricate products ranging from simple to elaborate.
  • Setups and dismantles simple to complicated machine fabricating equipment according to instructions, including the flow of lubricants, pressure, and depth of stroke, and installing, positioning, and aligning molds/dies using measuring tools such as rules, micrometers, gauges, feelers, and hand tools.
  • Assist with or perform routine maintenance, lesser repairs, or cleaning.
  • Operate a forklift to move and store products and load and unload trucks.
  • Enter information and interact with computer software and documents.
  • Alloy, transfer, and pour molten metal into molds, ladles, and bull ladles.
  • Regulate furnace/metal temperature; stirring, fluxing, and skimming off dross.
  • Inspect for quality, defects, and deviations from specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Monitor for unsatisfactory quality or unusual operating conditions and alert the appropriate Supervisor.
  • Instructs others on work instructions and specific techniques.
  • Responsible for quality of work and to appropriately resolve unusual operating conditions.
  • Willingly modifies work schedule and duties to accommodate Company needs-all other duties as assigned.
  • Monitors for unsatisfactory quality or unusual operating conditions and alerts appropriate Supervisor.
