The position requires the use of hand and power tools for tasks such as finishing edges, removing flash, clearing holes, sawing, sanding, grinding, blast cleaning, and trimming molded metal or plastic parts. Additionally, the role involves operating various machines for fabrication, setting up and dismantling machine fabricating equipment, performing routine maintenance, and operating a forklift for material movement and loading/unloading trucks. Computer interaction for data entry and document management is also a part of the duties. For roles involving molten metal, tasks include alloying, transferring, pouring, regulating furnace temperature, stirring, fluxing, and skimming. Quality inspection, troubleshooting, and alerting supervisors to issues are critical. The role may also involve instructing others and adapting work schedules and duties as needed.
