About The Position

Performs finishing operations as directed and assigned on a variety of product. Such operations include packaging, assembly, rework, inspection, weighing, recording finished production. Work under direct supervision.

Requirements

General arithmetic knowledge is necessary to understand how to use these tools.
Ability to work with 18- 30 lbs. per carton.
Possibly packs 100 to 250 cartons in an 8-hour shift.
May have to lift carton off the horse onto floor.
Twists, bends and lifts every carton.

Responsibilities

Packs cartons with empty plastic bottles at a standard rate.
Twists, bends and lifts every carton. This requires wrist and arm movements.
Uses simple measuring instruments such as a ruler, scale or gages to check work.
Monitors product for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/ /or the coordinator.
Loads conveyors and flamers.
Practices housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
Removes scrap from around the line.
Grind and pull plastic as needed.
Makes and unitizes cartons as assigned.
Initials and dates box labels.
Makes out unit tickets.
Does any other work as assigned by the Supervisor.
Promotes a safe working environment.
Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers.
