Requirements

  • High school or equivalent (GED). Up to one-year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Follow safety rules and procedures and wear personal protective equipment.
  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms. Ability to verbally communicate with co-workers in all areas of the plant
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, general policies, instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes.
  • Ability to update routine production order status and write tags for rework
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations
  • Crosstrain and work in other departments as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Builds mechanical units. Works to close tolerances requiring extreme accuracy
  • Requires skill in use of special and or standard tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, nut drivers, cutters, etc
  • Assemble engineering prototypes, note errors and recommend changes to documentation
  • May determine methods and procedures on new assignments
  • Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines to assist in loading and unloading raw materials/cut parts from machine using an overhead crane or jib
  • Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by cart or forklift if trained
  • Attaches rope or grappling equipment to work pieces to prepare work piece for moving by crane or jib
  • Thin paints to proper consistency and viscosity for spraying or brushing and adjusts equipment to obtain required finish
  • Prepare surface and apply prepared paints, lacquers or enamels to components or finished products
  • Hang parts on and take parts off of paint line
  • Able to scan work orders at the workstation
  • Scan product serial tags to bring up blueprints
  • Performs other routine duties as directed
