About The Position

The Consultant Engineer is responsible for analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design Supply Chain Solutions in current and future operations. The Finished Vehicle Analytic Engineer transforms complex logistics data into actionable insights to optimize vehicle distribution across North America. This role drives network efficiency, cost competitiveness, and service performance through advanced analytics, modeling, and cross-functional collaboration. Role is hybrid ( 3x/week onsite in Warren and remote the other 2 days)

Requirements

  • Experience in finished vehicle logistics or automotive distribution networks
  • Strong analytical capability with experience handling large, complex datasets
  • Advanced skills in data analysis (SQL, Excel; Python/R preferred)
  • Experience building business cases and financial impact analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Effective communication and ability to translate analytics into business decisions
  • Project management experience with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with transportation systems (TMS) and logistics platforms
  • Bachelor's degree required Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience
  • Four (4) years or more related work experience required
  • Total Work Systems (TQM) Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • DOT Regulated

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Industrial Engineering and/or Masters Degree

Responsibilities

  • Analyze end-to-end finished vehicle distribution performance across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
  • Validate network performance (Actual vs. Forecast) and identify key variances and improvement opportunities.
  • Define and optimize transportation strategies balancing cost, service, and vehicle quality.
  • Conduct pre- and post-implementation impact analysis for network redesigns and routing changes.
  • Design, run, and maintain network optimization models using supply chain tools.
  • Build data-driven business cases quantifying cost savings, service improvements, and volume impact.
  • Support sourcing, investment, and strategic decisions with clear, defensible analysis.
  • Build and automate scalable analytics tools and reporting solutions.
  • Standardize data, definitions, and reporting methodologies.
  • Support business needs through targeted data mining and rapid analysis.
  • Collects data and performs statistical analysis
  • Maps and documents processes.
  • Recommends and implements process improvement
  • Establishes and implements performance measures
  • Manages small and medium size projects
  • Conducts Supply Chain and/or inventory analysis
  • Re-designs and/or re-engineers logistics processes
  • Supports business development and creates efficient designs and solutions
  • Determines efficient utilization of resources by analyzing layouts, labor force, driver and equipment utilization charts
  • Applies company methodologies and tools to design transportation operations
  • Confers with the Engineering and Operations Managers to implement efficient and competitive solutions
  • Applies Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) tools
  • Assists in the development and delivery of presentations to customers as part of the sales team effort
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
