About The Position

Titan Coatings is seeking a Finished Goods Warehouse Operator to join their Production and Logistics Team. This role is crucial as it represents the final step in ensuring product quality and timely delivery to customers. The operator will handle various types of coatings, operate a forklift daily, and prepare shipments, including DOT hazmat shipments. This position requires a high level of integrity, motivation, and dependability, contributing to the company's growth and success.

Requirements

  • 1+ years in a warehouse, shipping, or distribution role.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current forklift certification, or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to read shipping documents, pick lists, and written procedures accurately.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to use a computer or handheld device for ERP entry.
  • Strong attention to detail under time pressure, focusing on products, batches, quantities, and labels.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality regulations.
  • Team-player attitude.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Able to maneuver drums.

Nice To Haves

  • Paint, coatings, or chemical experience preferred.
  • DOT Hazmat certification (49 CFR 172.704).
  • WMS and Datacor experience.
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all site rules, annual refresher training, and safe job procedures.
  • Wear safety glasses at all times in the plant and warehouse.
  • Adhere to cell phone policy: no cell phones on the factory floor or in the warehouse.
  • Practice safe forklift operation, including adhering to speed limits, using the horn at blind corners, wearing a seatbelt, and not carrying passengers.
  • Perform daily pre-shift forklift inspections and report any deficiencies immediately.
  • Observe load-capacity and stacking-height limits.
  • Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and strapping tools safely.
  • Follow all SDS and spill-response procedures, and report spills, near-misses, and injuries immediately.
  • Maintain continuous housekeeping and 5S principles, ensuring travel lanes, exits, and safety equipment are unobstructed.
  • Support cycle and annual inventory counts.
  • Complete department paperwork and shipping logs.
  • Report equipment failures to Maintenance.
  • Obtain DOT hazmat training and possess applicable RCRA knowledge.
  • Receive sealed drums, totes, and pails from filling, verifying labels, seals, and counts against the batch ticket before put-away.
  • Transport finished goods to storage by forklift, stacking pallets safely within approved heights.
  • Update inventory in Datacor upon put-away and support WMS barcode scanning.
  • Segregate and clearly mark QC-hold, customer-hold, and rework product away from shippable goods.
  • Pick orders according to the shipping schedule and pick list, verifying product, batch, quantity, and container type.
  • Stage orders by customer, carrier, and pickup time, inspecting labels, seals, and container condition.
  • Load trucks by forklift, confirming the carrier and truck match the order, and securing loads against shifting.
  • Verify loaded quantity against the bill of lading and packing list, and obtain the driver’s signature.
  • Prepare DOT hazmat paperwork and trailer placarding for solvent-based (Class 3 flammable) shipments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and FIFO rotation, storing goods per NFPA flammable-liquid requirements.
  • Complete shipping documentation accurately and enter/close shipments in Datacor promptly.
  • Work with urgency to meet OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) goals and flag any threats to on-time shipment.
  • Coordinate with the filling department.
  • Return promptly from breaks.
  • Pursue safety, efficiency, and quality improvements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
