About The Position
Reporting to the foreman, operators are an integral member of field operations, responsible for providing support on all of our projects.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 seasons experience with sloping, leveling, cutting grade (finish work)
- Minimum 5 seasons experience as an operator
- Must have valid CSTS-2020, WHMIS 2015, Ground Disturbance and CSA approved 6” steel toe work boots
- Hard working, positive attitude & willingness to learn
- Desire to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating on facility projects is an asset
- Gradesman experience is considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Perform live excavations below and above ground live utilities.
- Excavate to support construction of foundations, piping and electrial duct banks within a 30mm tollerance
- Working with the ground crew to expose and excavate near existing utilities
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment, including pre & post trip inspections
- Follow directions of ground crew (spotter) regarding hoisting, material placement and grading.
- Follow company policies & procedures regarding SWP’s, inspections, and incidents etc.
- Other tasks as assigned
