About The Position
Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to work on underground / water & sewer projects located in Saskatchewan. Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Mainline Excavator Operator
- Municipal underground utility experience is required
- Exceptionally safety conscious
- Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent / foreman
- Ground Disturbance Level 2 (required)
- CSTS 2020 / SCOT
- WHMIS 2015
Nice To Haves
- Ability to operate other equipment is an asset
- Strong communication skills
Responsibilities
- Installation of underground utilities in residential / commercial areas
- Work closely with pipe crews to install pipe - ensuring a high level of safety, communication and quality
- Adherence to legislation for excavation and trenching requirements
- Lower materials to pipe crews using proper rigging mechanisms and procedures
- Operate equipment in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
- Ensure work is always done safely, to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program
- Daily equipment inspections and maintenance
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity
