About The Position

The full-time Financial Systems Analyst will maintain Financial Information Systems and related technology solutions as assigned and provide support to end-user departments within the Marshall Health System. This role will provide day-to-day/routine system maintenance, for application systems, as well as first-level end-user support, training and response to system issues and outages as reported.

Requirements

  • Must have either degree, certification, or experience, or combination depending on education level:
  • Degree in Health Information Management or Information Systems or related field
  • Or: College level study leading to a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification by the American Health Information Management Association.
  • Experience providing customer/end-user support of information systems, operating systems, software applications, and related hardware.
  • 3+ years experience with Soarian Financials and/or Cerner Millennium application support
  • Working knowledge of typical business applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and troubleshoot Cerner Millennium and Soarian Financials applications.
  • Analyze business and financial workflows to identify system improvement opportunities.
  • Configure, test, and implement financial system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with finance, revenue cycle, IT, and clinical teams to ensure accurate system functionality and integration.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and financial data analysis tools.
  • Support billing, accounts receivable, general ledger, and revenue cycle operations.
  • Perform system testing, validation, and quality assurance for upgrades and patches.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, workflows, and training materials.
  • Assist with data integrity audits, reconciliation, and compliance reporting.
  • Provide end-user training and ongoing application support.
  • Participate in system implementation projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Writes instruction manuals and other documentation for application systems, processes, and procedures related to system use, maintenance, and operation.
  • Consults with end-users to discover opportunities for process improvement and increase user effectiveness/productivity using application systems.
  • Perform system testing and validation on a regular basis as necessary to for system patches and upgrades to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with software and support vendors to ensure system issues are documented and addressed by the vendor in a timely manner.
  • Stays informed about recommended/required application updates. Ensures I.S. and user departments are informed of any overdue updates, and ensures the hardware in use meets software vendor minimum recommended specifications.
  • Participates in implementation/upgrade/migration projects as required to provide system process knowledge, perform configuration tasks, write/run reports, and other tasks in support of the project team as assigned.
