Financial Systems Analyst

IndustriousNew York, NY

About The Position

This is a dynamic technical and operational role serving as a dedicated Financial Systems Analyst for the high-growth Industrious Accounting and Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Systems Manager, your primary mission is to support the day-to-day health, efficiency, and accuracy of our core financial platforms: NetSuite and Coupa. We are looking for a "NetSuite-first" junior professional - someone who understands the fundamentals of NetSuite administration and is excited to expand their toolkit by learning Coupa administration. We operate in a NetSuite OneWorld environment with subsidiaries across the globe, and you will be the front line of end-user support, ensuring our systems scale alongside our global expansion while maintaining the integrity of our financial data. Ultimately, the ideal candidate is a proactive systems administrator who is culturally aligned with the Finance team's goals, including attention to detail and accountability, while possessing the technical depth to bridge the gap between financial requirements and IT execution at a fast-paced, exciting growth company.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a technical or analyst role, with a specific focus on NetSuite.
  • Eagerness to become a dual-threat admin by adding Coupa expertise.
  • Natural problem-solver who doesn't mind "getting under the hood" of a system.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Clear communicator who can translate "system-speak" into plain English.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • No prior experience working within NetSuite is a disqualifier.
  • Preference for a slow-paced environment with few interruptions or tickets is a disqualifier.
  • Looking for a purely "strategic" role and not interested in daily tactical work is a disqualifier.
  • Finding documentation and process-mapping tedious is a disqualifier.
  • Uncomfortable working in a "grey area" where research is required is a disqualifier.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles (e.g., the difference between a Debit and a Credit, or how the Accounts Payable process works).
  • NetSuite scripting experience.
  • Experience working with P2P platforms like Coupa.
  • Experience with, or a basic understanding of internal controls (SOX-relevant), and the sensitive nature of financial reporting data.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for NetSuite and Coupa-related queries, including user access, Chart of Accounts, Approval Chains, reporting, and basic system configuration.
  • Responsible for creating saved searches, reports, simple workflows, roles/permissions review (first pass).
  • Joining the existing financial systems team in assisting the accounting and finance teams with month-end close.
  • Manage a steady flow of support requests via Zendesk and Slack, investigating errors, resolving access hurdles, and ensuring SLAs and response times are met.
  • Monitor and debug integrations (Workato) between NetSuite and Coupa, maintaining lookup tables and proactively monitoring integrations.
  • Work closely with the Financial Systems Manager to learn Coupa administration, eventually taking on co-administration duties for the Procure-to-Pay process.
  • Assist in the testing of new features and system updates.
  • Create and maintain "How-To" guides and process maps to empower the Finance team to use systems more effectively.

Benefits

  • Support for professional certifications
  • Ongoing education support
