About The Position

Advance your public accounting career as a Financial Statement Audit Manager at Castro & Co, where you will work closely with client leadership to address audit challenges and deliver meaningful business and process improvements. In this role, you will lead complex Federal financial statement audits across a diverse federal client base while mentoring staff and providing technical guidance. You will also collaborate with senior leadership to support firm growth. This position offers a flexible hybrid work environment.

Requirements

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business-related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' audit experience performing Federal financial statement audits
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Exceptional client service and oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Ability to manage, lead, and inspire a team
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Security Clearance: Must currently have or be eligible to obtain a security clearance (US Citizenship required)

Nice To Haves

  • Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) audit experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team and manage all aspects and the full execution of complex Federal financial statement audits
  • Interact with key client management to gather information, resolve audit-related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements
  • Analyze and develop recommendations in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) for improving compliance, effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability
  • Develop, plan, and implement a comprehensive test plan designed to achieve identified audit objectives
  • Manage project resources, status reports, and related project management tasks
  • Develop audit reports to present findings with recommendations
  • Meet or exceed targeted billing hours and monitor the budget to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget
  • Assist with business development activities of the firm
