About The Position

Parsons is recruiting a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Manager to support complex infrastructure and technology projects that make a meaningful impact on the world around us. This position offers more than just a finance role-it provides the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, and operations teams to help ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with strategic business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis or project accounting, preferably within an engineering or contracting environment
  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, logical functions, and data manipulation
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to collaborate across multiple teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and collaborative environment

  • Experience working with a variety of contract types, including firm-fixed-price, cost reimbursement, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and time and materials contracts
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and continuously evolving environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy in financial data and reporting
  • Experience with online reporting systems and workflow development
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Familiarity with project -based accounting or engineering/construction industry financial processes is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, tracking, and analysis of project budgets and forecasts
  • Collaborate with project teams to monitor financial performance, track expenditures, and help mitigate financial risks
  • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support project and business decision-making
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis, while supporting management reporting, revenue tracking, and cost reconciliation
  • Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and financial procedures
  • Recommend and support process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and financial efficiency
  • Assist with audits, cost proposals, and other financial documents as needed
