About The Position

Merrill Wealth Management is seeking motivated individuals for its Advisor Development Program, specifically for the Financial Solutions Advisor Trainee role within the centralized segment. This program is designed to guide you through obtaining necessary securities licenses (SIE, Series 7, Series 66) and developing the foundational skills required to become a successful financial advisor. You will learn to acquire, build, and manage client relationships, understand complex financial situations, and provide tailored advice and solutions. The role involves phone-based client interaction, identifying investment, savings, and liability management needs, and aligning Merrill and Bank of America products and services. The program offers a defined path for development, with opportunities to work with affluent and high-net-worth clients, prepare investment recommendations, and collaborate with banking and investment partners. Upon successful completion of the trainee phase, you will typically progress to a Merrill Financial Solutions Advisor (MFSA) role. The Academy provides dedicated support, training, and resources throughout your career journey.

Requirements

  • Must obtain SIE within 60 days of hire.
  • Must obtain Series 7 and Series 66 within 120 days of hire.
  • Displays confidence working in a sales role.
  • Builds strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Displays a proactive mindset and effective time management.
  • Demonstrates a results-driven mindset and prioritizes client interests.
  • Identifies appropriate client solutions through application of learnings and new information.
  • Applies relevant regulatory due diligence in daily activities and creating long-term client strategies.
  • Subject to SAFE Act registration requirements, including background check and registration process.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 licenses.

  • Work with affluent and high net worth clients, identifying needs, developing relationships, and reviewing investment goals.
  • Prepare investment recommendations that align with client goals.
  • Provide end-to-end comprehensive advice and deliver client reviews/presentations.
  • Recommend strategies to help clients achieve their financial goals and life priorities.
  • Connect clients to all solutions provided through Bank of America and Merrill.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients by providing exceptional client care.
  • Leverage relationships with Bank of America customers to grow business.
