About The Position

CIBC is hosting an Inclusive Meet & Greet Career event on September 17, 2026, in Cobourg, ON, for individuals interested in Financial Services Representative II and Associate Financial Advisor opportunities. This event is by invitation only and aims to connect with talent historically under-represented in financial services. Candidates will be selected based on job requirements. The Financial Services Representative II role involves working in a fast-paced Banking Centre, fostering client relationships, understanding their financial goals, providing tailored service, and recommending products. Flexibility to work banking centre hours, including evenings and weekends, and at multiple banking centres is required. The Associate Financial Advisor role also involves working in a Banking Centre, understanding client needs, recommending solutions, and managing a portfolio of mortgage clients to deepen relationships. Both roles require being on-site full-time.

Requirements

  • Current accreditation and good standing Mutual Funds License (Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds In Canada).
  • 1 year experience in working with clients and achieving sales results.
  • 2 – 3 years experience in providing financial advice to clients and achieving sales results through advice-based conversations.
  • Current accreditation and good standing in Mutual Funds License (Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada) and must meet eligibility requirements for CIRO-MFD licensing.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior banking experience in a similar capacity.
  • Current accreditation and good standing in CFSA (Certificate of Financial Services Advice).

Responsibilities

  • Foster key relationships with clients, understand their financial and personal goals, provide informative and tailored service, and recommend the right products and solutions.
  • Meet with clients to understand their personal and business priorities, advise them on solutions, and provide a forward-looking financial plan.
  • Use knowledge of cash management, credit, investment, and wealth protection to help clients meet their goals.
  • Engage in marketing and outreach activities to show clients you value them and their communities.
  • Grow your network, deepen existing relationships, and work as one team to ensure clients are connected to the right people and opportunities.
  • Become a technology expert and introduce clients to mobile banking applications.
  • Form a deep understanding of personal and small business clients’ needs as you recommend simple, personalized solutions.
  • Manage, either individually or as part of a team, a portfolio of mortgage clients where the focus is on deepening the client relationship.
  • Ensure clients’ investment, financial, and credit-related needs are met by providing a comprehensive retail banking offer or by making a formal introduction to the appropriate Imperial Service and Business Banking colleagues.
  • Create relationships by networking with clients’ families and friends to uncover opportunities and refer to appropriate partners.
  • Call both existing and potential clients to identify opportunities for future growth and revenue.
  • Engage in community and banking centre events such as business development events, client acknowledgement programs and client appreciation day to create and enhance CIBC presence and gain market share.
