About The Position

GreenStone Farm Credit Services is seeking a dedicated Loan Officer to join their team. As a Loan Officer, you will have the opportunity to provide lending and agricultural expertise to their valued customers. Your role will involve building strong relationships with customers to increase their loan portfolio. They are looking for someone who can combine agricultural and business knowledge with an in-depth understanding of each customer's current financial position. You will be responsible for providing innovative and workable alternatives to solve problems the customer faces in their ongoing farming operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 1+ years of experience in the agribusiness/farming industry or equivalent experience in agriculture credit or closely related field experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of loan products and services and credit operations
  • Knowledge of farm production methods and products
  • General understanding of farm business management, finance, macroeconomics
  • Knowledge of various business/financial applications

Responsibilities

  • Building Customer Relationships: Gather financial information from customers and listen attentively to their needs. By identifying both expressed and latent needs, you'll be able to provide tailored solutions or alternatives that meet their specific requirements.
  • Maintaining Sales Database: Maintain a comprehensive sales database file, ensuring all customer interactions and transactions are accurately recorded. Establish ongoing prospecting plans and activities to attract new customers while nurturing existing relationships.
  • Setting Sales Goals: Develop a commitment to individual sales goals for both loans and financial services, striving to exceed targets and contribute to the overall success of GreenStone.
  • Collaborating with Specialists: Make joint sales calls with tax, accounting, insurance, or other specialists, showcasing GreenStone's wide range of financial services and exceptional customer service.
  • Differentiating GreenStone: Differentiate GreenStone as the go-to organization for a variety of financial services, demonstrating a commitment to exceeding customer expectations in every interaction.
  • Community Engagement: Actively contribute to GreenStone's image as the leading financial institution by maintaining a significant professional presence throughout the local community. This involvement will help strengthen relationships and build trust within the community.
  • Analyzing Loan Requests: Analyze moderately sized mortgage and commercial loan requests, either independently or with a Credit Analyst. Ensure that loan decisions align with GreenStone's risk parameters and customer needs.
