About The Position

A Financial Services Officer builds strong member relationships by assessing financial needs, recommending appropriate loan and deposit products, opening accounts, and delivering exceptional service to support members' financial well-being. The role is responsible for underwriting and processing consumer loans, resolving account-related issues, promoting credit union services, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and contributing to branch growth and production goals. Role: To promote a positive service relationship and improve account engagement with members and nonmembers by identifying loan products and account services that best fits their needs.

Requirements

  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Able to operate a 10-key calculator, and computer keyboard.

  • Contribute to the department production goals for loans, loan products, accounts, and account products.

Responsibilities

  • Takes member loan applications and underwrites according to loan policy and procedure.
  • Follow up with member applications and inquiries.
  • Process the approved loans and set up date to close the loan and make disbursements.
  • Opens new accounts, CDs, IRAs and other credit union products.
  • Explains services to current and potential members to generate additional business and to promote positive public relations.
  • Analyzes potential opportunities to promote additional products and financial services.
  • Resolves account-related questions and concerns with members and nonmembers
  • Evaluates all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established Credit Union policies, procedures, and objectives; recommends changes to manager.
  • May assist with ITM and Vault Replenishments and Balancing.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
