About The Position

The Financial Services Coordinator is responsible for operational assistance in administering the League’s various financial programs and services.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of investment terminology, standards, and principles.
  • Ability to use most computer software packages relating to financial analysis and related programs as well as general office equipment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently within established guidelines and exercise sound judgment and initiative as appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various personalities, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, managers, employees, and vendors.
  • Graduation from an accredited college, university, or equivalent with a degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience in pension and retirement programs, finance, investments, loan processing, or accounting preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative support for the Director of Financial Services, Manager, Investment & Retirement Services, and the Financial Services Department.
  • Analyze borrowers’ accounts to optimize the investment of proceeds and facilitate transfers for upcoming spending requirements.
  • Review documents related to future tranches of the Florida Municipal Loan Council (FMLC).
  • Facilitate payment of expenses related to FMLC.
  • Coordinate all continuing disclosure filings for borrowers and maintain internal binders for each FMLC tranche.
  • Perform arbitrage calculations for non-exempt borrowers, update data monthly from account statements, and produce the fiscal year current calculation book.
  • Handle receipt of applications for various financial services programs and facilitate information flow to proper parties for follow-up.
  • Assist with quarterly compliance monitoring of investment options available in the program.
  • Maintain up-to-date files pertaining to the Florida Municipal Pension Trust Fund (FMPTF) members, including plan documents, summary plan descriptions, quarterly reports, participant data, policies, procedures, and amendments.
  • Coordinate and assist the League’s accounting staff on related financial matters pertaining to its program administration with the FMPTF and other appropriate sponsored trusts or agencies.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
