About The Position

This position is available within the University of Maryland’s Division of Information Technology (DIT). The Division of Information Technology (DIT) is looking to hire an experienced professional for the Analyst position to provide a broad range of support to the Assistant Vice President, the Finance team, as well as the Division. This position will provide support with financial tracking as well as operational support within the division, including, but not limited to: creating and maintaining financial reports, budgeting, reconciliation, procurement/purchasing, leading the division on travel compliance and other activities related to the running of the operational and financial aspects of the division. Excellent attention to detail is essential. The Analyst will respond to various inquiries both external and internal to the organization and must have the ability to work well with all levels of staff, as well as be welcoming, forward-thinking, and self-motivated. This position is considered essential and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergency to help maintain the continuity of University services. May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, or different shifts for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Three (3) years of professional budget, finance, or accounting experience
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control practices
  • Knowledge of budget functions including preparation, balancing, and internal control
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Ability to acquire, apply and expand knowledge of the University’s policies
