About The Position

At Conexus, the Financial Services Advisor is a full-time role based at the Lloydminster Service Centre in Lloydminster, SK. The core responsibility is to understand members' financial goals and help them achieve these goals by providing sound financial advice. This involves offering and fulfilling financial services and products to new and existing non-portfolio aligned members. The role emphasizes building relationships, problem-solving, and meeting challenges, contributing to members' financial confidence and the overall success of the province. Conexus, Cornerstone, and Synergy credit unions have merged into one provincial credit union serving over 200,000 members in 57 branches across 50 Saskatchewan communities. The organization acknowledges its presence on Treaty 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 lands, traditional lands of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Lakota, Nakota and Saulteaux peoples, as well as the homeland of the Métis.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of Financial Industry Experience in an Advisory Capacity
  • Experience in portfolio management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a Sales position is considered an asset
  • Completion of or working towards the Financial Planner and Personal Financial Services Advice designations and/or Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify members’ financial goals and provide advice and solutions to support their achievement
  • Provide account, investment and lending products, within scope of position, to meet member needs: Memberships and accounts including lines of credit, Consumer investment products (excluding mutual funds), Non-complex consumer lending products, Cards, Registered products, Safety deposit boxes, Mobile banking solutions, Day to day banking needs
  • Conduct proactive outreach activities to educate members and prospective members on the value and function of our products and services
  • Increase retention and expansion of member relationships by referring members to appropriate subject matter experts, based on needs, and follow-up to ensure member satisfaction
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely documentation
  • Adhere to security and operational policies, procedures and operational controls
  • Ensure healthy balance between opportunity & risk and between growth & profitability (e.g. through understanding and application of profitability margins in rate negotiation, fee subsidies, etc.)
  • Positively represent Conexus externally to support the growth of our membership and to enhance credit union system support and collaboration
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes and improve operational efficiencies
  • Provide support, assistance and backup as required for retail team
