About The Position

Califia Farms is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, and compliance activities across its US and international operations. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, the role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of consolidated financial statements; maintains strong internal controls; supports financial and operational audits; and oversees complex accounting and regulatory matters. The position calls for strong technical accounting expertise, experience in a consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and third-party service providers.

This is a hybrid role working in the DTLA Arts District office Tuesday through Thursday. The manager supports financial close and reporting, technical accounting, external audits, international accounting and tax compliance, environmental and regulatory reporting, treasury and other accounting matters, and finance transformation through AI and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or a related field.
• Prior experience at a public accounting firm.
• Experience taking a lead or supporting role with external financial statement audits and managing complex accounting matters.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across departments.

• Experience with multinational operations, consolidation accounting, transfer pricing, or international tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements.
• Support and lead financial reporting for US and international entities.
• Support management reporting and financial analysis, including explanations of significant balance sheet and income statement fluctuations.
• Research, prepare, and review complex accounting matters, including significant estimates, judgments, and nonroutine transactions, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment, documentation, and US GAAP compliance.
• Research, prepare, and review accounting for intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and international transfer pricing arrangements.
• Review reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
• Serve as a primary contact for external auditors during annual financial statement audits for US and UK entities.
• Coordinate audit deliverables, financial schedules, technical accounting documentation, and management responses.
• Support bank audits, compliance reviews, and financial information requests.
• Coordinate inventory observations and physical inventory counts.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve audit readiness.
• Coordinate UK VAT compliance, including transaction reviews, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
• Support US and international corporate tax compliance in collaboration with external tax advisors.
• Manage intercompany accounting and transfer pricing documentation compliance.
• Coordinate responses to tax inquiries, examinations, and information requests.
• Oversee selected indirect tax and regulatory matters, including customs, import-related requirements, and applicable state and local business taxes.
• Support and manage financial reporting and compliance activities related to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs in the US and UK.
• Coordinate EPR registration, reporting, and payment requirements.
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, and external service providers to validate packaging data and regulatory obligations.
• Review and reconcile EPR-related vendor invoices, credits, accruals, and forecasts.
• Support beverage container recycling and deposit reporting requirements, including applicable state-specific programs.
• Monitor regulatory developments for potential financial reporting implications.
• Support accounting and financial reporting for insurance claims, recoveries, and business interruption matters, including the annual renewal process.
• Support accounting and compliance matters associated with capital expenditures, financing arrangements, and government incentive programs.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional departments and the Controller on financial and regulatory matters.
• Leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity across financial reporting and accounting operations.
• Use generative AI to streamline research, analyze complex accounting and regulatory requirements, and assist with financial reporting documentation.
