About The Position

Wellington Management is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to join their Fund Reporting & Audit team. This role is responsible for supporting the successful completion of annual fund financial statement audits and regulatory filings. The analyst will collaborate with other Wellington teams and external service providers such as custodians, fund administrators, and auditors. The position involves performing daily, weekly, and monthly centralized activities including regulatory filings, client reporting, and management reporting. The analyst will also contribute to process improvement efforts, respond to inquiries, support fund-related projects, enhance internal controls, and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Utilizing IT skills to identify and implement efficiencies is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements

  • College undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or business
  • 5-10 Years of experience from a public accounting firm, asset management firm, and/or fund administrator
  • Very strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with other individuals
  • A natural curiosity and desire to expand one’s knowledge and role
  • Advanced Excel, Access skills, business intelligence/IT skills using Alteryx, SQL, Tableau or a desire to develop them
  • A proactive nature in developing and improving processes
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, performing multiple tasks and balancing competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems

Nice To Haves

  • Progress towards a CPA, CFA, CAIA or MBA is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the annual audit process, including financial statement reviews, and work closely with fund auditors and service providers
  • Perform a variety of daily/weekly/monthly centralized activities, such as regulatory filings, client reporting, and management reporting
  • Assist with process improvement efforts by helping to identify, develop and implement enhancements
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries on a broad array of topics
  • Support projects associated with the funds, Wellington’s operational and systems infrastructure and service providers
  • Contribute to enhancing internal controls and process documentation
  • Develop relationships with Wellington’s centralized teams and external service providers
  • Utilize IT skills and knowledge to identify and implement efficiencies where possible
